ADEX Training

Our ADEX Training is conducted for four days and six days. This course is ONLY for candidates who have enrolled for the ADEX licensing exam.

The Restorative Section of ADEX https://adextesting.org/adex-dental/ is a required section that is performed either on a patient or on a manikin. The Candidate may complete up to two procedures to demonstrate competence in the Operative Section.

Procedures in ADEX Exam

Two restorative procedures must be completed to pass the ADEX exam:

Direct Posterior Class II Composite Preparation and Restoration (MO, DO or MOD)
Direct Anterior Class III Composite Preparation and Restoration (ML, DL, MF, DF)

DTX teeth with caries is not used during this training. Please feel free to bring your own typodont and teeth to practice.

Endodontics is a required section and will be completed on simulated teeth. Universal precautions and a rubber dam are required for all Endodontic treatment. Required Endodontic procedures:

Anterior #8 – Graded on Access and Obturation
Posterior #14 – Graded on Access only

The Prosthodontic Section consists of the simulated preparation of two abutments, #3 and #5 – Zirconia preparations, to support a posterior three-unit fixed partial denture prosthesis and preparation of an anterior tooth (#9) for a full-coverage ceramic crown.

The Periodontics portion is NOT covered in this training.

ADEX Exam Training - Course Details

The course is conducted for four days (Monday through Thursday) in Frisco, TX, by Dr. Shalini Thasma, DDS, a foreign graduate from NYU College of Dentistry.

The cost of the course is $3900, for four days. If you want to practice more under direct supervision, you can enroll for the 6-day course (cost $4800), where the last 2 days will be complete practice sessions.

All the materials for the doctors to practice are provided, including Lunch. Kilgore Typodont and Kilgore endodontic teeth will be provided for practice.

Bench Test Prep Course - Day 1

On the first day of the course, the following topics will be covered :

Zirconia Maxillary Molar #3
Zirconia Maxillary Premolar #5

Bench Test Prep Course - Day 2

On the second day of the course, the following topics will be covered :

Full Porcelain crown Maxillary Central Incisor #9
Practice sessions

Bench Test Prep Course - Day 3

On the third day of the course, the following topics will be covered :

Class II composite cavity preparation
Composite restoration
Class III cavity Preparation
Practice sessions

Bench Test Prep Course - Day 4

On the fourth day of the course, the following topics will be covered :

Rubber dam placement
Anterior Endodontic Access and Obturation #8 (2 Kilgore endo central incisors will be provided)
Posterior (maxillary molar #14) Endodontic Access (2 Kilgore endo molars will be provided)
Practice sessions

Bench Test Prep Course - Day 5 & 6

On the last two days of the course, the following topics will be covered :
